HOW POOR LIFESTYLE AND NUTRITION CHOICES DAMAGE YOUR IQ
Lets face it. A polluted and toxic mind can’t be trusted to produce an optimal mind set or to manufacture optimal decisions. Our society today is continually asked to swallow a massive paradox and that paradox revolves around the idea that although we know an unhealthy lifestyle can make our body sick, we’re conditioned to ignore or not even to believe that an unhealthy lifestyle can make our mind sick as well. Unfortunately an unhealthy lifestyle negatively affects our IQ and rational thought patterns instantly. The solution is simple. Knowledge is power. Time to power up and learn the connection between optimal health and optimal brain function.
This is the basic science of how an unhealthy lifestyle reduces our ability to think clearly and to manufacture optimal decisions, which would make our life easier, as we age. The truth of this cycle is also easy to see in real life, as most of the public today only encounter a worsening of their finances, stress and general living conditions as they age. This of course is counter intuitive because as we age, our cumulative life experience is supposed to grant us the knowledge to make our life easier but of course we don’t see much of this in real life. The reason for this is often connected to how an unhealthy lifestyle and sub-optimal diet destroy the minds’ ability to act in a rational and logical manner.
The flight or fight mode is a concept we’re all familiar with. Our body comes equipped with a set of standard and built in reactions, our fight our flight mode being one of those. Our fight or flight mode operations are very simple. If we’re threatened, certain chemical reactions start occurring in our body, as a way to increase our survival potential, in the face of a threat.
T The reactions to fear or a threat, which the body produces are numerous and well documented. Those reactions include a dilation of the pupils to take in more light and more visual information regarding the perceived threat. The heart rate increases in order to pump more blood into legs and arms, regarding either fighting or running away. The liver reduces sugar in a massive wave, in order to inject instant energy into the muscular system regarding the energy laden event that’s right around the corner. Here’s where the problem comes in. One of the body’s reactions within the flight or fight metabolic set up, is a lowering of IQ. Why does the body purposely lower IQ when faced with a threat and how does the flight or fight system get activated when someone eats poorly? Let me explain.
First of all, when the body is faced with a threat, it understands quite clearly that the higher brain functions aren’t going to be needed during the fight or flight situation. Oddly enough the higher brain functions, if left on, would lessen the body’s chance of survival because the higher brain functions include love, compassion, connection and other peace based applications.
The body doesn’t need nor want this part of the brain operating if a fight breaks out because any hesitation of violence, during the fight or flight reaction could see the aggressor get the upper hand. These peaceful and higher level brain functions, located in the frontal lobe, are there when we need to act within the peaceful societal parameters set out within our cultural conditioning and this is exactly why the body shuts this part of the brain down in preparation for violence.
When this part of the mind is shut down during the fight or flight mode, IQ plummets and overall intelligence is severely compromised. The fight or flight reaction can reduce an intelligent human to cave man like IQ status in the blink of an eye.
Here’s where it gets interesting. Rapid reductions of blood sugar sets off this fight or flight mode as does any ingestion of a substance, which the body doesn’t categorize as real food. Just because we can fit it in our mouths and swallow it, doesn’t meant the body is going to see it as healthy food. The body is as afraid of low blood sugar as it is afraid of a lion attack. Both qualify as threats because our life is threatened equally in both situations. A wild animal attack and not getting proper food (stable blood sugar – what we need to live longer) can all result in death.
Junk food and unhealthy living sets off our fight or flight system because the body sees eating poisons as an instant threat.
For example, alcohol consumption can set off this reaction and lower IQ substantially in minutes. This effect is also measured to last much longer than most people believe, setting the blood sugar on a wild up and down roller coaster ride, for days or even weeks after ingestion. Most people are not eating optimally and that could be the understatement of the century. Then these people are applying their polluted and lowered IQ’s to a frenzy of various decisions, which effect their short term and long term futures. It’s like a bad infomercial because…wait there’s more. The toxins ingested and inhaled during toxic living bio accumulate so the IQ lowering effect of a bad lifestyle increases with time.
The longer someone lives an unhealthy lifestyle, the worse their brain works. The results are easy to predict.
When someone is polluted and unhealthy, they’re going to be manufacturing key life decisions out of a sub standard mind, hard wired for low IQ and faulty perception. For more information on this IQ lowering effect of a bad diet, one can watch Dr. Russell Blaylock’s lecture free on Youtube titled “Nutrition and Behaviour". For anyone interested in what it really means to live a healthy lifestyle they can pick up the book by Paul Chek titled, “How to Eat, Move and Be Healthy" or Dr. Mark Hyman’s book titled, “Ultra Metabolism". Norway's Plan To Get Rid Of Cars Involves A New Billion-Dollar Bike Highway
ADELE PETERS 03.15.16 11:01 AM
Norway is trying to get rid of as many cars as it can. By 2030, though the country's population is quickly growing, the government is aiming for zero growth in private car use. Downtown Oslo will be car-free in three years. And now as another step towards its goal, Norway plans to spend almost $1 billion on a new network of bike highways.
The two-lane bike highways will link suburbs to nine Norwegian cities on the shortest, flattest path possible. With few intersections to cross, a rider can travel as 25 miles an hour on a daily commute. "[Bike highways] will be attractive for more people living in the suburbs, who we plan will be getting on their bikes instead of using cars on daily travels," says Marit Espeland, national cycling coordinator for the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
Right now—unlike nearby Denmark or Sweden—Norway has fairly low everyday cycling rates, especially outside of its city centers. That's partly because communities are a little more scattered and partly because of culture.
Flickr user Larry Lamsa
"Many Norwegians use their bike for sport and leisure activities rather than to commute to work and school," says Espeland. "By constructing more and better bike paths, we will contribute to make more people feel safe and make it easier to choose their bike instead of their car."
The new highways are one part of a much larger effort to get as close as possible to zero emissions from transportation nationally. By 2030, Norway plans to cut the country's entire carbon emissions by 40%; by 2050, it plans to be carbon neutral. Because most of its electricity runs on hydropower, a relative large chunk of its emissions come from cars and other forms of transportation.
Public transportation will be fossil fuel-free in five years. Electric buses are being rolled out now, and the country launched its first electric ferry in 2015. All taxis will be zero emission cars by 2022. Norway is also already the world's biggest market for electric cars, thanks to tax cuts and benefits for drivers like giving drivers special access to bus lanes.
But just switching to electric cars isn't enough for the government. "Too many are driving their cars," says Espeland. "The cities become more and more congested ... An electric car fills up just as much space as other cars. It is not possible to solve these challenges without getting more people traveling by more space efficient and environmentally friendly transport."
Ultimately, Norway believes that bikes—along with better public transport and disincentives to drive—will help the country reach its goal of cutting transit emissions in half. "We have been working on this for a long time, and I believe that more people will choose their bike on daily travels more often in the near future," she says.
IT’S NOT A WEED! IT’S AN UNRECOGNIZED, HEALTH-BOOSTING WONDER PLANT!
Purslane, which most people take for a common weed, is actually a health-boosting food that many people grow for consumption. Purslane or Portulaca oleracea is a beautiful plant with yellow flowers. It originates from India and Persia, but has since spread all over the world.
This plant is very versatile in that it can grow almost everywhere. It is packed full of Omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, all sorts of B vitamins, iron, magnesium, manganese, potassium, calcium, and copper, as well as betalain pigments and carotenoids.
Here are some of the health benefits associated with consuming this plant.
Heart Health Both potassium and Omega-3 fatty acids are known to promote heart health. Potassium works to lower blood pressure and Omega-3 fatty acids help to reduce the amount of bad cholesterol in the body. These two components of purslane are what make it so great for the heart.
Weight Loss
Being low in calories, but packed with fiber makes purslane perfect for those who want to shed some extra pounds. This plant is also nutrient-rich which means that people who consume it will feel full without all those extra calories.
Gastrointestinal Health In traditional Chinese medicine, purslane is used to treat gastrointestinal problems from diarrhea to dysentery. This plant’s ability to treat these issues most likely comes from several organic compounds found in the plant, like dopamine, malic acid, citric acid, alanine, and glucose. Bone Strength
The calcium, magnesium, iron, and manganese in purslane are all necessary elements to protect and sustain bone health. Daily consumption of this “weed” may even prevent osteoporosis.
Improved Circulation As previously stated, purslane is full of iron and copper. These two elements are essential for a healthy circulatory system. A healthy circulatory system contributes to improved overall body health because more blood is getting to where it needs to be.
The next time you see purslane outside, take the time to pick it and give it a try. Adding it to your diet may be just what you need to live a long and healthy life!
I have heard it tastes really good!

my my learning never stops especially with the internet and those sharing what they learned. I have had this growing everywhere on my property and have gotten rid of it and will see this year if some have escaped my attack. I remember looking at it and thought it was actually beautiful and so healthy looking and wanted to plant it around the house. Since I am still alive and have learned today I will do that this year if some have escaped my endeavor to remove it. Thank you for sharing

I loved your video, it was very informative. It used to drive me nuts as it grew everywhere. I think I purged it from my land, but if I see any this year I will reintroduce it to my yard. I was once told that it was eaten quite a bit in Mexico, but never knew how to prepare it. I think it would probably be good in smoothies, too. Thank you so much for your helpful hints and fun video, and for the plant's name.

THIS SWEDISH COUPLE BUILDS GREENHOUSE AROUND HOME TO GROW FOOD AND KEEP WARM YEAR ROUND
The average January temperature in Stockholm Sweden is 27 degrees Fahrenheit. In this is cold weather it is expensive to heat the home and challenging to grow vegetables. As a solution to these issues, Charles Sacilotto and Marie Grammer created a massive greenhouse that encloses their home.
They gave Fair Companies a tour of their “Naurhus” (aka Nature House) that is encompassed by a 4-millimeter pane of glass. The costs: $84,000 for the installation.
The greenhouse home is heated by the sun during the day and keeps it warm in the evening due to residual heat that is stored in the bedrock that resides below the home.
The roof deck is the best ever for year-round actives such as providing their son with a place to play, sunbathing and reading in an environment that only the Naturhus can create.
This is an environmentally conscious family who is working to become self-sufficient. They collect rainwater for their household needs as well as water for their plants. They compost their garden and kitchen waste, so it is recycled back into their little ecosystem.
According to Fair Companies:
“The sewage system begins with a urine-separating toilet and uses centrifuges, cisterns, grow beds and garden ponds to filter the water and compost the remains.”
Inside the greenhouse, they grow tomatoes, figs, cucumbers, herbs and grapes and other things that would not normally be able to survive the Scandinavian winter.
According to Charles Sacilotto, who is an engineer, there is no need to worry about the glass breaking:

A New Education Model for Humanity
A New Education Model for Humanity By Will Stanton
Guest Writer for Wake Up World
All human beings are born creators. If you don’t believe me, I urge you to recall when you were a child. Didn’t you love to paint and dance and sing? Didn’t you love to indulge in imaginary worlds you conjured up in your head? Children are naturally creative. It’s one of the things that makes us human. The problem is we’ve been cultured out of our creativity as we’ve grown older. The problem is we have been educated. The education system is due for a major paradigm shift. For too long, it has been stuck in the dark ages. Teachers still stand at the front of the classroom and deliver information, much of it meaningless in the whole scheme of things. Schools encourage competition, conformity, obedience and standardization, while also engaging in the suppression of our natural, creative impulses and critical thinking faculties. Children are moulded and conditioned via the factory model of education to be unquestioning worker bees in a system that does not care for human progress. As a result, our species is stagnating. In order to reach the next stage of our evolution, the education system must undergo a revolution of its own. Buckminster Fuller once said, ‘You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.’
The Six Dimension Model
Around ten months ago I had a profound and very sudden awakening brought on by the realization that humanity was on a collision course with itself. It was at this point that I decided I was going to dedicate my life to changing the education system. Like Fuller, I thought it was much more pragmatic to wipe the slate clean and start over than to try and patch up the leaks of the old system, so I came up with what I call The Six Dimension Model.
In no particular order, these six dimensions are Self-Discovery, Inquiry, Sustainability,Innovation, Communication, and Empathy.
Self-Discovery
The first of the six dimensions focuses on the internal and personal growth of the individual child. Children will have access to all the avenues of discovery they desire, from artistic and aesthetic practices to sports, outdoor activities and everything else in between.
Creative play will be a part of every day, and students will be given free reign over a wide range of creative tools and resources with which to draw, build, invent, compose, design, imagine, and experiment to their heart’s content. Teachers will take the time to get to know each child on a personal level, and will make every effort to nurture and unearth each child’s natural abilities, passions and interests.
Children of all ages will take part in meditation and mindfulness practices to help them align with the essence of who they are and assist them in finding the path they wish to take with their lives. This will not be a mandatory practice, but instead will be something the school system highly encourages as a tool for self-discovery.
Inquiry
This dimension is all about providing learners with the tools and resources to be completely independent critical thinkers, and to discern information through an investigative approach. The role of the teacher will shift from an information dictator to a facilitator of open dialogue. Traditional teaching methods will make way for more Socratic-style mentoring, which involves probing and challenging students through a process of open-ended questioning. Socratic mentoring is named after the Athenian philosopher, Socrates, who wisely said, ‘I cannot teach anybody anything – I can only make them think.’
Schools will not teach a single version of history. Instead, children will investigate the evidence from a number of different perspectives, and alternative accounts of history will not be dismissed or overlooked. They will then collate and weigh that evidence before reaching their own conclusions. Differences in opinion will be encouraged and will be a necessary departure from the Orwellian groupthink mentality of the herd. Philosophy will also be taught as part of this dimension, giving students the ability to challenge their own rigid belief systems and open themselves up to different viewpoints and perspectives. The classroom will be a place where children truly feel like they are able to question everything and have their views respected, no matter what those views may be.
Religious doctrines will be abolished as they have no place in the education system. Open discussion of religion within a philosophical context will be encouraged however, as such discourse is highly valuable.
Sustainability
At present, the education system does not take our environmental reality seriously enough. Sustainability must be a primary focus in any new system. With the catastrophic deforestation of the Amazon, the plastic junkyards in our oceans, the pollution in our atmosphere, the displacement and destruction of our ecosystems, the threat of nuclear radiation, and now the plundering and pillaging of the Arctic regions, it is paramount that our children are not sheltered from the truth of our real and lasting impact on the environment.
Students will learn all about intelligent and effective resource/waste management, will interact with new energy technology in all its forms, and will be empowered to become problem-solvers with regard to the environmental crises facing our planet. Immersion in nature will be an integral part of this model, as it is crucial for us to regain our connection with the earth and with all life on it. The aim will be to get children out of the traditional classroom setting as much as possible and into a diverse range of environments that suit the learning context.
Children will also be equipped with the skills to become self-sustainable. This means being taught how to grow their own food, how to provide their own energy supply, how to build a house that can withstand the elements, and all other real useful life skills that allow them full autonomy over their own lives. The aim is to give young people the freedom of not having to rely on any system to do everything for them. They will be shown how to make sound choices for their health and wellbeing, through good nutrition, regular exercise and meditation. Again, it will be the responsibility of the children to look after their own vitality, and none of this will be forced on them.
Innovation
Humanity’s greatest feats of creativity and progress have always been born out of unconventional ideas. Out of the box thinking will be deeply ingrained in the philosophy of a new education system. Schools will place a great deal of emphasis on divergent thinking, that is, thinking that does not require a clear right or wrong answer to any given problem. Divergent thinking strategies allow children to sharpen their natural creative intelligence so that they may reach their highest potential as innovators of the future.
All unnecessary competition in the classroom will be replaced by collaborative teaching and learning practices. Our human potential is far greater when we work together than when we work individually or at odds with each other. We must raise our children in an environment centred on collaborative and community-oriented principles so that they may grow to help create a better world and a fairer reality for the whole species.
Mathematics will be an optional pathway beyond elementary/primary level. Math will become ameaningful and highly relevant study with regard to its real world application. Students will also discover how sacred geometrical principles relate to nature, to the building of ancient civilizations, and to the framework of the universe itself.
Science education will see a shift away from reductionist materialism and into non-physical and quantum phenomena. This is not to say that the education system will abandon material science, but instead will extend its reach above and beyond traditional boundaries to include a study of that which we cannot perceive ordinarily with the five senses. All such exploration will occur through experimental and investigative inquiry by applying the scientific method.
Communication
This education model aims at retaining our native languages and recognises that cultural diversity is necessary in a thriving world. That said, English will also be taught across the board as that will enable all races, cultures and peoples to connect easily via written and spoken language.
Literacy and language acquisition will remain a cornerstone of the education system at elementary level, but will be voluntary at secondary level. Once a child can read fluently and get their message across effectively, it is no longer an absolute necessity for them to pursue further advancement of these abilities unless they choose a path that requires these skills. The engineers, nurses and dancers of the world would most likely prefer to use that time to develop skills in other areas.
Media literacy will be taught from around the age of ten. Children will be exposed to all kinds of media and will learn to think critically about the persuasive techniques being used. They will be able to read subtext, recognize manipulative language, and dissect political propaganda in all its forms. These skills are essential if we are to raise our children to maintain dominion over their own minds.
Students will also learn to recognize emotions and body language, and will apply that understanding to the management of social relationships and their own personal growth. By becoming conscious of their emotions, they will be able to minimize conflict, both internally and externally.
Empathy
The last of the six dimensions, Empathy, is all about bringing real human connection into schools. It is so important that the future generations learn to value all life on the planet, so that our species does not continue to perpetuate the vicious cycle of war, oppression and conflict that has caused an unconscionable degree of pain and suffering.
In order to evolve, we must unite all colours and creeds and remove all barriers of separation. Nationalist fervour will be eliminated. There will be no pledge of allegiance. There will be no ethnocentric pedagogies. The education system will take a holistic, planetary approach, and will work on the foundational philosophy that we are all one.
Schools will function as real communities instead of the institutions they are now. Children will be valued, respected, and trusted with important roles of responsibility in the school. They will also be encouraged to engage in random acts of kindness in and out of the classroom, and to act with compassion and human decency in all that they say and do. Kids will learn strategies to empathise with others who are experiencing psychological, physical or emotional turmoil, which could be as simple as sitting silently by them and sharing their pain, or a heartfelt hug. Teachers will have the freedom and flexibility to establish a human connection with every child under their wing. Children will no longer feel alienated by their school system, but loved, understood, and empowered.
The Six Dimension Model will bring much-needed balance back to our education system, and will give both left-brain learners and right-brain learners the same opportunities to reach their highest potential. There is much more to this blueprint, including the structure and implementation, that I have written about in great detail in my book, Education Revolution, but this article should give you a clear idea of the scope of this vision. If this is the kind of education system you want to see for the future generations, then let’s hit the reset button together!````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
